That's Weird Conference 2008, Glastonbury, 20-22 June |
 The
Now That’s Weird Conference 2008 was held at the
Assembly Rooms in Glastonbury. Replacing the Forbidden
Knowledge Conference held the previous year in the Town
Hall, the new name better reflected the content. It is
also benefited from being part of the growing Now
That’s Weird brand, which also includes a show on
Glastonbury Radio syndicated around the world, a shop at
No. 19 The Gauntlet in Glastonbury and a show on Sky
channel 211 starting in the July. The Conference had a
line-up of top international speakers, as well as
bookstalls, therapists, aura photography, readers,
signing sessions and live music from Blackheart on the
Saturday night. The three hour Now That’s Weird
radio show came live from the event on the Friday Night.
In addition, the entire show was recorded for television,
which meant that host Ross Hemsworth had to be even
sharper than usual. All the talks during the weekend were
also filmed for DVD purchase. Everyone agreed the
Conference was a great success, with the only problem
being how to top it for next year! |
